Eel prepared according to the Ohrid traditional cuisine – in “Ohridska Sofra“and “Vkusot na tradicijata”
In the village Skrebatno near Ohrid despite the Monastery “Presveta Bogorodica” traditionally was held the touristic - promotion event "Ohridska sofra 2014", specialties from the Ohrid region, with the emphasis on the gjomleze, and other traditional food as for instance: homemade cheese, honey, gardening products and Ohrid delicious traditional dishes prepared by the students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Ohrid, were presented in front the domestic and foreign tourists who had the opportunity to try some of them.
The event, which is held the second year in a roll and which aims to promote rural tourism and traditional dishes from the region of Ohrid, in the competition part 24 participants, took part.
This year the numerous visitors of the “Ohridska Sofra” has the opportunity to enjoy in the cooking of the famous cookery show in Macedonia “Vkusot na Tradicijata” ("Taste of Tradition") in which the Mayor Nikola Bakracheski together with Adriana Alachki prepared distinctive specialty for this region – eel on the way of Ohrid cuisine.
This traditional manifestation is in organization of Municipality of Ohrid with support of the Ministry for Culture as part of the project “Topol kulturen bran” and numerous sponsors.
“BALKAN RALLY MARATHON 2014” – SUCCESSFULLY FINISH
The winner in the Moto category in the international Off - road race "Balkan Marathon Rally" is Christian Pastori from Italy. Pastori won the grand prize - free participation in Africa Eco Race.
The fifth jubilee edition of “BALKAN RALLY MARATHON 2014” started from the square of the city of Samokov in Bulgaria and the finished in the town of Ohrid, Macedonia. The awards were presented at a special ceremony on the shore of the Lake Ohrid. The race was realized with the assistance of the Municipalities of Ohrid and Samokov the help of Bulgarian and Macedonian off - road clubs “4x4 Adventure” and “Alexander”, actively participating in the organization of the "Balkan Marathon Rally."
At the start in the different categories stood over 80 participants from Bulgaria, Greece, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Serbia and Macedonia who passed more than 2000 km for 7 days. In the race was the two-time Dakar winner Jean-Louis Schlesser who was at the start of the prologue with a prototype car Hyundai Santa Fe T1.
A lot of mud, rain, tough and attractive routes - much adrenaline and passion were necessary for the competitors to stand on the podium of the best and most resistant.
Officials at the award ceremony of the winners in the "Balkan Marathon Rally" were Angel Yanev - Deputy Mayor of the town of Ohrid, Todor Hristov - Director of the “Balkan Marathon Rally”, the first participant in the Dakar Rally - who raised the Bulgarian and Macedonian flags at the start of the world most prestigious rally in 2013 year for the first time; and Velibor Kaevski - Deputy Director of "Balkan Marathon Rally” and involved in many other international competitions in Macedonia together with the participants of the Moto club “Alexander” from Skopje "
In the category of Moto - M1 the first place went to the Bulgarian competitor Dimitar Boevski, the second was for Henault Bergeijk from Holland and Paul Van Midelar from Belgium stood third.
Christian Pastors was the winner in the general classification of motorcycles in the M2 category (Moto Overall category), before Martin Fontaine from Belgium and Frank Gotenboer from Netherlands.
In category UTV/ATV on the winning podium stood the Macedonian representatives Dimitrije Jovanovic was the winner before Alexander Kocevski and Zarko Trajchevski from MK Alexander Skopje.
In the category Class AUTO the winners were the Bulgarian crew Kalinkov / Boneva, before the Bulgarians Zahariev – Arabadziev and Austrians Ehemozer – Schiffer.
In the category of Jeeps Adventure: the winners were Macedonian crew Chuparkoski/Grcheski before Kosteski/Spirkoski and Najdoski/Trajchevski.
For marking the start of this year's tourist season in Ohrid, our city representative responsible for tourism and local economic development organized culture event called “White Summer”. This manifestation held on 4-th of July, second year in a roll.
Enjoyable party, reduced prices in the coffee bars and evening concert on the city square of the music band "Nockout” were just several segments of the manifestation. In addition, promotion of the traditional crafts on the small square officially launched this year's event, "White Summer". Therefore, this manifestation that perfectly connects the tradition and the modern culture remarkable for our city, slowly but surely becomes a recognizable brand for Ohrid. Beside the leading goal of providing entertainment for all local citizens and tourists, for the young and adults at same time, this event contributes to enrichment of the touristic offer for increasing the number of the regional tourists.
During the activities, catering, coffee-bars facilities offered a discount on their services by 30 percent, which contributed and provided with citizens massive presence.
Besides the guys from the music band "Nockout" before the citizens of Ohrid and guests with their own set was performed DJ – NASTI.
Our city management will take care this cultural event “White Summer” to continue in future with reaching much more attractiveness.
